Our goal is to assist all homeowners to bring their existing and new homes to today’s high standards of energy efficiency, comfort and health through testing and remediation. We are licensed and insured, and will walk you through the testing and review process from beginning to end.

WHAT IS HOME PERFORMANCE?

A Home Performance Test is the best way to analyze the condition of a home as it relates to its energy usage and the efficiencies of its major components. Utility costs are becoming a larger part of a homeowner’s budget and most homeowners are unaware what steps to take to reduce their consumption and thus the costs. Home Performance Contractors apply the latest in building science to test and measure the whole home ‘s performance and efficiency, identify which areas need help, make recommendations for improvements AND save you money in the long run. We test the “whole home” because the various components that make it comfortable to live in –tightness of the building envelope; duct leakage; electric & gas usage; water heating –impact how efficient your home is.

WHY A PERFORMANCE TEST?

A home performance test will inform you of the reasons for:

High electric and gas bills
Temperature differences from room to room
Indoor air quality issues (mold, dust, drafts)
A/C and furnace constantly on/off (cycling)
Discomfort issues

WHAT IS INVOLVED WITH A HOME PERFORMANCE TEST?

A Home Performance Test involves a 2-3 hour on-site inspection performed by our technicians. The inspection includes a series of tests using the latest diagnostic testing equipment and ENERGY STAR techniques.

WHEN DO I SEE THE RESULTS?

Following the testing of a home, the homeowner will be given a home performance report that outlines the findings of the test as well as provide a step by step plan to address the areas of concern. We will walk you through the results of the test, discuss recommendations, and answer any questions you may have about the testing results. See testing page for more details

HOW MUCH DOES THE TEST COST?

The complete test costs $595 for houses 4,000 square feet or less, with one heating and cooling system. For each additional 1,000 square feet after 4,000 square feet, the test costs and additional $50, and for each additional heating and cooling system, the test costs an additional $75.
